Elise Letourneau Music

Composer • Arranger • Songwriter

Blurring the lines between classical, jazz, and popular music, Elise's choral compositions and arrangements have been performed across Canada and around the globe. She also writes bluesy-rootsy rock songs, mostly piano based, frequently featuring plenty of layered vocals.

The ELMgrove

Ambient Music

Elise creates ambient works that are lovingly composed, partly improvised in the spirit of the moment, and recorded live in the studio environment. They create a lush sound experience that envelops the listener in gentle melodies, reassuring rhythms, and earthy sound palettes. Organic and comforting, they aim to ease stress and foster a mood of serenity, relaxation, balance, and well-being. Whether you consider them electro-acoustic or neo-classical, or something else, Elise hopes these pieces bring peace and positive energy to your space.

Maison Tournesol

A lot of music happens here

Maison Tournesol is the name of our humble abode. You know… Buckingham Palace, Fallingwater, Tara… and Maison Tournesol. It's also where I write and record most of my music these days. And sometimes I record and produce other peoples' music. And yours too, perhaps?

The Fieldown Singers

studio vocal team

Normand Glaude and Elise Letourneau make up this talented and versatile studio vocal team. Their work together includes choral recordings, back-up vocals, and contract work for composers and sound designers. Encompassing jazz, rock-pop, and classical genres, they are equally at home singing from scores or improvising harmonies and textures. Normand Glaude owns and operates the Morning Anthem recording studio www.morninganthem.ca. A background in electrical engineering coupled with consummate musicianship and one of the most discerning pairs of ears around make him a well-respected and highly sought-after audio professional. He has been in-demand on the Ottawa music scene for more than 25 years, both in live performance and as a studio musician. An associate composer of the Canadian Music Centre and a Berklee College of Music graduate, Elise Letourneau has won multiple choral composition awards and her pieces have been performed around the globe. She directs a women’s choir, performs in a Steely Dan tribute band, and has worked as a staff vocalist for an audio marketing production company. Their CD, The Fieldown Sessions, is available at www.eliseletourneau.com

Glamour Profession

a Steely Dan tribute band

The Glamour Profession band came to light in early 2014 as a project designed to honour the sound and spirit of Steely Dan compositions. Unique, sophisticated, and ground-breaking, the jazz-rock sound of Steely Dan is as relevant today as it was when it began in 1972 under Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, who were then college-age geeks with a near-pathological taste for jazz and irony-laced story-telling. Their hilarious narratives are embedded in infectious and playful funk grooves, layered with wickedly devious jazz harmonies inspired by Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Gil Evans, to name but a few. The Ottawa-based, ten-piece band spent eighteen months building a repertoire that now tops thirty Steely Dan tunes, including their biggest hits. They debuted in January 2016 to a sold-out audience at Ottawa’s Shenkman Arts Centre and earned rave reviews. Today, their shows include a wide range of Steely Dan songs, and their celebration of this rich music is sprinkled with brief anecdotes about the songs and the composers Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. All the players in the band are Ottawa and Montreal-based jazz and rock musicians who themselves are geeky Dan fans to their very core.
